“Liberty is calling - Join me and let's answer the call."

Dr. Dana Myers for Chair of the Republican Party of Texas

Meet Dr. Dana Myers

American First Candidate Vows to Unite Conservatives to Protect Texas.

Dana grew up in the country, raised by parents and grandparents that lived their ideals-Faith, Country, and service to others and their community. Hard work, personal responsibility, duty, and grit were the expectation of the generations in her family.

From an early age, Dana knew the value of hard work; whether mucking out stalls, spending hours on the John Deere tractor mowing fields, or keeping the books for the family business. She worked hard in school, understanding the value of education and setting goals. She demonstrated her leadership skills throughout college and medical school.

Her academic work even landed her a meeting with President Ronald Reagan, but she was already hooked on politics long before she visited the oval office. She had been working to help elect Republicans from the time she was in high school, whether block walking with her grandmother, or learning how to phone bank for Republican candidates.

Ultimately Dana’s life took her from the farm to the operating room, where she trained at the Texas Medical Center as a general and trauma surgeon. She led the drive to build a special surgical care center for women with breast cancer, then headed a non-profit focused on helping patients deal with the after effects of cancer treatment.

When Dana became a mother, she put her family before her career, closing her surgical practice to care for her son. Later, she helped start a small business that eventually entered the markets across the United States, Europe, and Japan.  She also began to work with Medical Manufacturing and Engineering companies to bring critical infrastructure back to the United States and her beloved Texas.

Love of God, a passion for service, and devotion to her country made Dana’s decision to serve her conservative values a natural one. She became active in Texas politics while working to fight government overreach; working with many different conservative groups to strengthen and protect Texas.

When her husband Dr. Jon Spiers ran for Land Commissioner, she was by his side as they crisscrossed the state they love in his pickup truck, listening to and learning from the people of this great state. She saw firsthand what Carl Sandberg described as the mixture of valor and swagger that helps make Texans the envy of the world.  At the end of his campaign, Dana was asked to run to be Vice Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas by grassroots activists who recognized she had the skills, determination, and passion to help unite the many great conservative groups in Texas to protect the state.

Drafted once more by the grassroots, Dana has been asked to run for Chair to build a strong election integrity program, recruit, train, and strengthen county and precinct chairs, improve party operations, increase voter participation in the party, increase engagement across the state, and elect Republicans to local, state, and federal offices.

Dana recognizes the strength of the grassroots, the impact of our legislative priorities, and the importance of our Republican platform. Her slogan, “ Valor, Purpose, Victory!” will be her guide as she works to serve alongside our grassroots, build the Party, its infrastructure and membership, partner with the  SREC, and continue to tirelessly strengthen our local, county, and state Republican organizations.

Service

Dana has been active in the Republican Party since high school, when she started volunteering with her grandmother. She continues to serve her state and community through multiple volunteer organizations.

Experienced Leader

As Vice Chair of the RPT, Dana has trained hundreds of grassroots, county and precinct chairs across the state, as well as set up a training program for voter registration and election workers. Dana was part of the team that wrote SB1070- the legislation to get Texas out of "ERIC" (Electronic Registration Information Center). She advocated statewide for its passage during Legislative session, as well as helped secure many additional Election Integrity wins for Texas. During her two terms as Harris County Vice Chair, working with Chairman Siegel, Dana once again helped to build and rebrand the party to increase its community engagement, communication, and voter registration efforts.
